Yes, We are actually pretty good at what we do

I often get asked, how do I know we are getting our moneys worth. And with SEO its sometimes hard to give real reports each month. The only thing you can really show a client is the results in the search engines.

We often talk about market domination. While we can get many of the top 10 results on page 1 of google we tend to focus on getting exposure for mutiple keywords rather than just one keyword. However, this is the part where I want to toot my own horn.

Search this in Google – “Med Spa Dana Point”

Our client – Visage Medical Spa has about 5 spots on page 1 (used to be more but  a few have dropped to page 2). This is an example of leveraging multiple web properties to get more exposure for our clients.

This is just one example of what we do. These days we still focus on Google Places optimization but are really excited about our Local Megasite program. This is pretty sly SEO per city. I dont want to get into too much detail here on the blog, but bascially if you serve mutiple cities and want to rank page 1 for hundreds of keywords per city then lets talk.

300 Client Milestone

We recently reached the 300 client milestone. While we are just moving along with business as usual this milestone kinda just came and went so I thought i would blog about it.

Local SEO seems to be what everyone wants. Our reputation management marketing has produced olmost zero sales. I say almost… we got a few. But we seem to hitting our stride with Google Maps and Local Organic search. Everything is working and sticking. Companies are seeing results and asking us for more. We are getting referrals and seem to have some happy customers.

We are always just striving to do our best. And we are relentless. Just keep pluggin away.

We are mostly excited about the new website leasing program. We have been busy creating systems and infrastructure to support a massive amount of websites….. and customers. So…… maybe August we will have some of the first rollouts of new sites. We have 4 new sites being designed at the moment for personal injury attorneys, bail bonds, water damage and Air Conditioning Service. Sent out some new proposals for Security Guard service and some others.

One thing I am sad to report is my lack of follow up with lackluster clients. If they aren’t excited and see the vision…. I am not prodding them to get it. I just am moving on….Its more of a time management issue. If you are excited and want to really attack your market then lets talk shop. If I have to convince you then your better off talking to the super-sales guys out there selling online yellow page ads. (Dont buy them) by the way. Google is still where its at. And mobile is next….. we are positioned nicely for mobile.

Yes B2 is doing nicely in its first real year of dedicated service. So, congrats on 300…. if I do day so myself.

Website Leasing Program sees early Results

We recently launched a website leasing program that is seeing some decent results right out of the gate. The idea was to create a site and SEO plan that was custom designed by Todd Bryson. Its a symphony of 2 parts.

#1 – A really nice website – these sites are optimized for several hundred keywords. So, they have several hundred pages. The site is incredibly optimized to the max.

#2 – A solid link building strategy – We use some tested link building techniques to help reach page 1 results. We can pretty much dominate any local market at the moment.

Top 5 reasons to write a Press Release

  1. Organic Traffic - With their universal search protocol, Google has started showing press releases in their search results. If your press releases is well put together with a keyword targeted title, it can rank for a few days in Google organic results. The press release can also get traffic from the news feed Google typically includes at the bottom of page.
  2. Link Building – You can use targeted keywords as anchor text within your press release with a link back to your corresponding page. When the press release is distributed the links are embedded in your press release. The pres release will be picked up by distribution partners. Not all the links will be picked up, but some will.
  3. Reputation Management -  If someone has criticized your business one way to quickly get the bad review off of Google blog search or Google Search results is to issue multiple press releases. You want to include your business name in the title of the press release. Then you can get external links pointing to this site just like you would when doing normal SEO on your website. 
  4. Blogger and Web 2.0 People- Many bloggers subscribe to online press releases and blog directory sites like Digg, Stumble Upon and Technorati. If your press release or blog post interests them they will link to it and possibly blog about it. If you constantly reach out to this audience you can get significant links, traffic and sales from them. 
  5. Traffic from Additional Media - If your pres release interestes media other then online they will follow up with you and write a story about your business. This strategy will lead to short term boost in traffic and sales

How do Citations Work for Local Listings?

Citations are the lifeblood of your local listings. Meaning without them don’t expect to rank to well.

What are citations?

Citations are where your business information is placed on other website. An example would be your listing on Yelp. The Google Bot will go over to help and find our business information like Business Name, Phone Number, Address and URL. If it all matches up then this is a “citation”. In other words Google has verified that your business is legit on this other directory.

So a citation is basically another listing on another site that has all of your business information.

There are several types of citations available for your business. Most can be explained by taking a look at the Local search Ecosystem. The Local Search Ecosystem by David Mihm is basically what we have designed our submission process after.

What we have done is taken this blueprint and then added some additional business related sites like Facebook, Twitter, Ning, Blogger and other related sites and we post your business information on these sites. This casts a large web of data that represents your business.

In addition we place links on all these sites so that your business will gain over a hundred inbound links to your site. This will help in your organic search engine rankings as well.

Our hand submission process is better than  Universalbusinesslistings and other submission services. The reason being is that we set up new accounts at each website. We then add photos, and video where possible and then add blog posts, ads and as much content as possible to each listing. The problem with Universal business Listing is that after it passes data off the first level data aggregators like InfoUSa your data gets sent out as a feed. This feed is “thin” meaning that they only send out basic information. So, While you may get a listing on Faves.com for example it wont be super optimized.

Our philosophy is that if your listing is ranking high on the other directories and search engines then this will help boost your rankings on Google and Google Maps. So basically, More is better. And I believe we have the best submission practice out there. If you really want  the best then use our submission service. I challenge anyone else out there to match what we are doing. Local Direcotry Submitter now live

I just wanted to let you know that we
have been busy finding new ways to
dominate the 7 pack on Google Maps.

We have been refining our practice and
have made a few discoveries as of late. I want to
share them with you here.

  1. Content rich listing rank higher
  2. Listings with Keywords in Business name rank higher
  3. Listings with keywords in categories rank higher
  4. Listing with the most reviews rank higher
  5. Listings with multiple “citations” rank higher 

So, in regards to #5. Listings that have more citations

are ranking much higher. This is the secret sauce that
have been using for our clients to get them to rank higher. 

A citation is your business listed on another directory. If google
sees this they are verifying that your business is legitimate
and trusting that you are in fact a real established business. 

We have been submitting our clients information to over
75 localized directories and business sites. Since doing
this we have noticed a significant jump in our clients
rankings on Google maps. 

Each listing we submit is content rich. And so we
have also noticed that our clients are ranking
within the individual directories as well….like
Merchant Circle, Yellowbook, Super pages, Insiderpages etc. 

So we have now assigned one of our employees to only work

New Client – Genesis Laser in Tustin

January 27th, 2010
Do you want to see what we can do? Today we signed up 2 new fresh clients. Visage Laser Skin Clinic in Anaheim Hills (Keywords might be Med Spa in Anaheim Hiils) and Genesis Laser Spa in Tustin (Med Spa in Tustin). These 2 sites have had zero SEO as of today 1/27. If you are reading this in the future I would Google some of their keywords and see how they are ranking. I guess it’s going to take about 60-90 days to get some good first page placement.

Today we shot some video and scheduled a site review with their web designer. On Friday we will be sitting side by side and SEO’ing the site. I will update the blog every now and then when I start to see some rankings pop on the first page. their videos will most likely rank first . WE did a video 3 months ago for another med spa in Irvine (Google- Med spa in Irvine) and you should see some video results towards the bottom of page 1. This Irvine Med Spa is on the first page 6 times last time I checked.

This should be interesting to watch so I thought I would make a quick post.

Why Bid on your own name?

You already know that consumers are looking for
your business online. Many are searching for your
business by name because they are researching
your company or looking for your contact info.

Customers are Reviewing your Reputation Online

The easiest way for consumers to run a
free “background check” on your business is by
looking for you on one of the three major search
engines: Google, Yahoo! or Bing. But what shows
up for those searches, known as your online
reputation, can convince a consumer whether to
purchase your product or service, or buy from  
one of your competitors.

When it comes to search engine marketing,  
bidding on business category keywords (ex:
